In 1948 he worked with his son Gaston who radically refined the designs and introduced a modern element to the work. In the 1950s they produced chairs and tables and shelving units in lacquered metal. They also collaborated with their friend Gio Ponti to produce chairs and Marco Zanusso to produce a range of chairs for La Piccolo Teatro di Milano 1955
