Mid Century Modern Murano Glass Bird in the Manner of Licio Zanetti

Elegant simple glass bird using the Murano Filigrana technique. The back of the bird as black glass rods and the front white, the beak and eyes were app,ied later.
Filigrana Technique: Coloured crystal rods are prepared beforehand which are heated in the furnace until they melt and then applied to a cylinder of clear glass. The glass is then blown as usual to make various objects. Considerable skill is required to carry out the operation successfully.
