Biography: Jouve was working as a Theatre Designer when World War 2 broke out and he managed to hide in the Free Zone of the South of France where he learnt the tradition of ceramics. He learnt the potter’s secrets and after opening a studio in Paris when the war ended, he became the leading ceramicist of the Twentieth Century.
